Background Brought Forward

I’m going to give NBC’s Powerless a couple of more episodes before weighing in on the show’s quality.  But I totally agree with many others that the show’s opening credits deserve some real recognition.  The show is rooted in the more down-to-earth side of the DC Universe, following a crew of creators who basically work for the Batman, Bruce Wayne.  The credits take classic DC Comics covers and do something really nice with them.

I will also say that it’s great seeing Danny Pudi (Community) and Alan Tudyk (Firefly) back on the small screen.  They are two to watch as the show tries to hit its stride, I think.  Here’s a scene focused on Tudyk, who plays a relative of Bruce Wayne.

Powerless airs Thursday nights on NBC.
