A major trailer for this fall released this morning. November’s Justice League is a direct follow-up to last year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That movie continued the darker tone of Man of Steel while bringing in the hope of heroes beyond what has come to be known as the “trinity” of DC’s major heroes.
Superman is absent, of course. Amy Adams’s Lois Lane gets one shot in the trailer. I expect Superman to return in the movie’s last shot (or, maybe, for the final quarter). The trailer is assuming some knowledge of the movie’s villain- you get parademons but no face-and-name for anyone more significant. So it will be interesting to see how close to the vest the advertising for the film ends up being.
I don’t have the issues with the DC cinematic universe that lots of fans seem to have. Anyone well-versed in all-things-DC is used to a multiplicity of interpretations on characters and storylines. This is one version in a dozen that you could find at your local Barnes and Noble. Enjoy each on its own terms, really. Find the gem, the hint of the original shine, and let it be a doorway to the bigger and better story.
