What Thor Does in the Shadows

Over the last couple of years, I’ve become a big fan of Taika Waititi.  Beyond being a Kiwi, his work with What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople has been phenomenal, telling funny stories full of poignant moments.  So the stakes are high for his work on Thor: Ragnarok.  I must admit to having been hopeful for Thor: The Dark World insomuch as it was based on characters and stories from one of the most iconic runs of the god of thunder’s history.  Not so much with November’s entry in the series.  The framing seems Asgardian, but the bulk of the story is Hulk.

Having said that, the trailer looks amazing.  The humor at the end is a nice touch, a hopeful hint at more light-hearted moments.  But I’m mostly a big fan of first-person narration, which we get early in the lip.  No guarantee that it will make it into the final cut, but it’s something.
