It’s always awkwardly interesting to watch the relationship between Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty play out.  That’s one of the strengths of the strip’s broad cast: siblings, best friends, rivals, creative dogs and kite-niverous trees.  Something in the tensions that all of these characters move through often sheds light on even some of the more awkward aspects of our own lives.  Here’s a recent “classic” Peanuts strip that really exemplifies that.  Poor Chuck.  And poor Patty.
