New Year’s Day 2026 (Hope to Carry On)
The new year started off with a slightly-later-than-usual pre-dawn walk up into the valley. The breeze was nice and the road mostly quiet. Morning prayer, some monastic podcast, talk, and then the first full song of the year. You just … Continue reading

Singing “The Truth”
Up until a couple of years ago, I didn’t even know the song “The Truth” by Caedmon’s Call existed. I first heard it when I purchased the third Guild album. The better rendition of the song, though, is found on … Continue reading

Love is Different
An oldie but a goodie. And a great reminder.
This Is “What You Want”
If you haven’t done so yet, I strongly encourage you to check out I Was Wrong, I’m Sorry, and I Love You by Derek Webb. The album has officially dropped and can be purchased in CD or digital form. I … Continue reading
This (maddening but beautiful) World
2013 HAS BEEN ROLLING like steam train. I got back from Tennessee to be greeted with a new semester. On the third day of the new semester, Spirit Week commenced. That week, as always, is a joyous trial. Then, this … Continue reading
